Remote Start FAQ
What additional parts and labor may be required?
Most modern vehicles are equipped with some form of factory anti-theft system. This prevents some hooligan from breaking your window and hot-wiring your car. This conveniently also prevents a remote start system from working.
The method around this is to use an Immobilizer Interface Module to convince the cars computer that the vehicle is in fact being started by a key in the ignition, even though there is no key present. These parts tend to add $100 – $150 to price of a remote start install depending on vehicle year, make, and model. Contact us for more information and an accurate price quote.
What kind of warranty do these have?
Our starters carry a limited lifetime warranty on the products themselves and a lifetime labor warranty. Peace of mind is guaranteed.
My nephews friends step-sons uncles fathers mechanic who has been working on cars since the Model-T said remote starters are bad, is this true?
No. Remote starters in and of themselves are harmless, all they do is replicate what you do with the key everytime you get in the car.
What is bad is the technicians that put them in. They are very involved and require a good degree of electrical knowledge to install properly, not something any old nut and bolt turner should attempt.
Our shops lead technician is MECP Master Certifed (The highest certification available) with over 6 years of experience and handles all our remote start installs, so you are in good hands. For more information about the MECP program please see www.MECP.com
